Man City will not have any “big issues” against West Ham on Sunday (15 May) despite their defensive injury crisis, according to Danny Mills.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Man City and England defender insisted Pep Guardiola has the strength in depth to deal with their current injuries.

Sky Sports reported earlier this week (9 May) Kyle Walker, John Stones and Ruben Dias are out for the rest of the season due to injury.

Fernandinho and Aymeric Laporte lined up at centre-back for the 5-1 victory over Wolves on Wednesday (11 May) but both had to be substituted.

As quoted by club media on Friday (13 May), Guardiola revealed he is unsure whether the pair will be available for the trip to West Ham.

Asked whether that could give Liverpool hope of catching City, Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “Man City have got a mentality at the moment where they will keep pushing, keep pushing and keep pushing.

“As soon as they got knocked out of the Champions League, it looks like they have said ‘Right ok, we are going to win the league, no questions asked.

“Whoever goes out there, there are still quality players in there. I have every faith that whoever goes out there, there will not be any big issues.

“They can afford to draw a game too, they’ve got a buffer. I certainly don’t see them losing a game between now and the end of the season.”

Nathan Ake and Rodri ended the game at Molineux in the heart of defence.

City have only lost three times in the Premier League this season and they have won their last five top-flight games by a margin of at least three goals.
